Maybe it is the recession or guys are simply looking for better jobs as the weather gets nicer, but recently I have had loads of guys landing on my page looking to work as gay escorts in London.
This got me thinking about escorting as a career choice. I have written little bit about it in my other posts, but in this one I would like to answer a simple question- How long can you realisticly expect to work as an escort?
While some clients think that escorting is something one does to pay for their tuition fees for college (and it may be the case for some), majority of us have already long finished our studies or have actually never been to uni.
This is especially true in the States. Going through magazines and Rentboy.com it is obvious that lots of those guys on there are in their thirties, forties and even few fifties ( See under NYC, London is mostly for younger guys). Why is that? Surely they must be able to find a “proper” job by then, you may wonder. The fact is, however, that this job is very addictive and difficult to leave. Mostly because of the perks that come with it. You can read more about it here.
My advice to all the guys starting in this business is to set a time goal for this business. As a professional career advisor in the past, I can say that to any job really. What do you want to get out of this business and how quickly? Is it to pay back your credit card debt? Want get enough money together for your house deposit? Write down this number and make a plan. Once you have reached your goal, it is time to move on.
It always frustrates me seeing people on TV and newspapers complaining about their job losses, when they have been in one company for 30-40 years. We live in 2010 not 1600’s, you need to be flexible with your career and always ready to move on. As soon as you get stuck in one place for too long you will get complacent and dare I say – lazy.
I know it is much safer and easier to wake up for the next 40 years and go to work in the same place, fooling yourself that your loyalty will be somehow rewarded in the end, but this is not the case now and it certainly wont be the case in the future. You need to look at yourself and ask this question every day- will there be a real need for my services in 6 months, 2 years or 10 years time and set your objectives accordingly. If the answer is “no or not really”, then you need to take action now not to wait and see what happens.
My point to all of this? Dont get stuck in escorting until you reach forties. As the time passes demand for your services will enevitably go down. Be wise, keep learning and getting new skills that you can use when you quit the business. Make the money you need in shortest possible timeframe, this way you wont get too used to the perks of escorting.
Until then get the most out if it, like me, and go sunbathing on Friday when most people are working hard by their desks :P

Terrific work! This is the type of information that should be shared around the web. Shame on the search engines for not positioning this post higher!
Nice dispatch and this enter helped me alot in my college assignement. Say thank you you seeking your information.
You make a lot of really good points. There is, however, a way to keep on escorting if you want to. That is to offer something that men can’t get elsewhere, and to keep focused on pleasing the men who do go for you. I say this, because I’m 48 and still manage to attract clients for reasons that have more to do with my personality and how we click in the sack, than how young or handsome I am. To extend your career idea – it’s about constantly being sensitive to your market, and making sure to please your market instead of thinking about the guys who might not find you attractive.
Keep posting stuff like this i really like it
Happy New Year!
